If anyone in Baltimore can answer afew questions, I'd appreciate it.

1) Where is a good place to stay to take a train into washington?
It does not have to be near a minyan, I will have a car.
Is there parking near train stations, or do I have to stay in a hotel nearby?

2) Where is there to eat that's not too fancy or too "heimish"?

Any answers will be helpful.

It takes around 50 minutes to drive from Baltimore to the last station for the MTA in DC. There's parking available and once you're at the station it takes 30 minutes to get to the Mall area (where Smithsonian and all that stuff is).

This is the easiest way to get to DC if you don't want to drive into the city.

In terms of restaurants, Kosher Bite and The Knish Shop are not fancy. We also have several pizza places and a bagel shop. Most of our restaurants aren't so classy.

There is a hotel: The Pikesville Hilton that's about 10 minutes from the shuls and maybe 5 minutes from the restaraunts. This is on Resiterstown Road near the highway (easy access to downtown Balt and Balt-Wash parkway) and the majority of the restaurants are a short trip up this road from the hotel.

There's also a bed and breakfast in the eruv Bina's Bed and Breakfast.

Can't find the number at this minute - PM me if you're really interested in staying there and I'll dig up the phone book.

Just to let you know that there is a kosher bed and breakfast in Baltimore called "Bina's Kosher Bed & Breakfast" that I saw advertised in July, 2005 in the Advertiser. It is in the Fallstaff/Labyrinth area and has private bedrooms and bathrooms. The phone number is 410-358-2810.
