I know this is not the current holiday, but I was thinking of a song yesterday that my 6th (or was it 7th) grade teacher taught to us and I cannot remember the words. Loved to get them if anyone can help out.
the first letter of each paragraph spelled out the word Chanuka.
Candles with flames of red and blue,
one small wish I ask of you
on this cold and dreary night
tell the story of your plight
How clearly I remmeber when I was young
the song that to me my father had sung
but now that I'll soon die
please ......
......
please help if you can.

Cut her some slack, you know how it is when you get a song in your head.
People are talking about Pesach and it's not Purim yet.

Oh my! I haven't heard that song in decades!! I would love to know too.
Quote: | How clearly I remmeber when I was young

but now that I'll soon die
please ...... |
".....grant my wish and reply"
Dont remember the rest though. Took me a minute or two to remember the tune.

As you see I'm here in a cell
For in the Nazis hands my family fell
On this cold and dreary night
Tell me he story behind your light
Not just now but long ago
Our nation faught a terrible foe
Few in number but great in faith
??
That's all I remember (I learned it in sixth grade) - would love to have someone remind me of the rest.

It seems to be that we all for the most part learnt it in grade school and I've never heard the song any time since. Did we all, possibly, have the same teacher?
The teacher who taught it to me was Mrs. Lehman, in Beth Rivka.

I don't remember teach's name, but it wasn't that & I didn't go to Bais Rivka. Is that in Canada? Lubavitch school?
I went to Flatbush Yeshivish school.
Going to search internet now to try to find it

I went to Beth Rivka in Crown Heights. Yes it is a Lubavitch school.
