I need a dip recipe that goes with pita chips. I can't get out to the store now. It's for a fleishig meal.
Would dill mayo dip go with pita chips that are spiced with zaatar? That's pretty much the only dip I know how to make.

No, it doesnt sound like it will go together.
How about chummus or guacomole? Both are simple to make from scratch.

I don't think I have the ingredients for either of those. What about another mayo based dip?

Anyone have a dip recipe that uses tomato paste? That would probably work.

I have a great dip that I make:
Saute a LOT of crushed garlic and hot pepper flakes in oil. When the garlic is just starting to get a drop golden, add a bunch of tomato paste and let it simmer on a very low flame for a couple of hours until the color turns to a deep red. you can add a little oil if needed to prevent sticking. Add salt at the end.
You can also make fried chatzilim dip which uses tomato paste. Do you have eggplant?

Thanks for this. I ended up making it, except that I cooked it for much less than 2 hours.

Too late now, but I made the green dip from Spice and Spirit, which was really good. It's just the green parts of scallions, mayo and a bit of lemon juice, blended together.
