That's why I didn't buy them!!!!!!!!
I just got her soft walkers for like $20, she only started walking a few weeks ago anyways, so she can't pick her feet up in 'real' shoes yet anyways. I gotta get her some nice walkers for yom tov today. IY"H after work!!!!!!

that's the price, cause you didn't try to buy them in Boro Park.
I get these comments all the time about if you don't get name brand real support shoes they'll mess up her feet forever. Cheap shoes will destory her feet apparently. I just feel that is all a bunch of baloni.

It is baloney. I asked my son's physical therapist. She said as long as the shoes have flexible soles, that's the main thing. You should be able to bend and flex the soles of the shoes for the first few months of walking. Cheap shoes WILL NOT destroy the feet. She was very adamant about that and says that it's hype.

Think about it: 20 years ago, all babies wore those white, stiff shoes as their first shoes. Do we see generations of people with messed up feet.

Also, in the Binah magazine, in the "Ask The Pediatrician' column, the dr. they interviewed said the same thing, the "support" is just a claim from the manufacturer/marketing strategy

Oh and just so you know, payless children's shoes are reviewed by a pediatrician just like striderites are and are very similar.

Yep, I also got my 2 year old shoes at Bass, but in Atlantic city. Tons of outlet stores there. I didn't pay so little like Ambassador, but $24 was definitely a lot better than the min. $50 they charge here! I also got my older daughter school shoes for the same price.

There is one store in Boro Park that often has sales racks and bins. I wish I could remember the name, but I bought 3 pairs of Italian leather shoes for my kids and one pair for myself for under $100. I happened to get lucky that they had our sizes on clearance. I suppose this does not help as I have no information! It was run by a mother with her daughter (maybe early 20ish) helping her.

Payless shoes reviewed by pediatricians, that is interesting to hear, where can I get that info so I can tell all of the people who put them down.
