I teach in high school and wanted to give the class some fun work to do that is math based and chanukah themed.
anyone have any ideas?

great idea. I probably would have loved something like that in high school but my math brain (except for basic math) has layers of dust on it.
some gematrias?
calculating the angle on the menorah (not curved) (soh cah toa)?
If it takes X long to burn Y amount of oil, how much would you need to burn the minimum chiyuv time if you light at 3:30 and shkiah is at Z....
Calculate the calories in the latke! Grams of fat? Trans fat? With or without sugar free apple sauce!
On a serious note, what type of math are they doing? What level?

one is a geometry and the other is an algebra 2 class. (9th and 10th grade)
I dont mind giving them math that is a little below their mathematical abilities. There is one day between their last test and chanukah vacation and I dont want to start a new topic, because it will have to be taught again after vacation.
