I believe in the theory that my own children should come before my students.
I have been allowed to make that theory into a reality by quitting my teaching job at the end of the last school year to be home with my baby and be a better mother to my 2 kids when they are home and not at school
However, I agreed to come in a teach for a limited amount of time, 8 weeks, to tie them over till a new teacher comes in. Without getting into details the reason they needed a teacher to come in was because the school was left without a teacher unexpectedly (medical issues).
I'm having a hard time disappointing my 30 students by doing what's best for my kids. I guess since there is emotion invested with my students (im in a jewish high school, see these kids in the community, etc) and it's not just a job, they are actual people with minds and feelings.
how do I disappoint 30 children instead of my 1 child, just because my child is my own blood?
My children are TOTALLY paying for me doing this "favor", do I back out of it?
