I'm gearing up to start toilet training my daughter. (fun, fun, fun!)
Another mom recommended the gerber training pants & I checked them out in Target & noticed that they're pretty pricey compared to regular underwear. I'm assuming that the advantage is that they are absorbent enough so that if there's a little accident, you wouldn't have to change the kid's clothing.
I'm wondering if they are really helpful and worth the extra $$ or should I just buy regular undies. Any advice?

It does really depend on how big the accident is; only if it is just a tiny little bit do the training pants save you from having to change the child's clothes. If it is a full bladder's worth, there may be a puddle despite the training pants. I think they are nice for after the kid has the basic idea down, but may wet a little before getting to the toilet on time. It's better than changing clothes every time that happens. It makes me a little more confident taking a kid out in public who is still in the process. I think it's worth it; you can pass them down to the next kid if she doesn't need them for very long.

it's worth investing. I bought 2 packs and had six on hand. I often had to wash all six in one day!
