when we first came to Israel over 20 years ago we were living in the mercaz klita and had no cook or bakeware. they ran a cookery course to give ideas on what to make with only one gas ring and a fridge. I vaguely remember a recipe for cheesecake that was petit beurre biscuits dipped in milk then a tub of white cheese mixed with a jello (made) - pour this over the top of the biscuits and cover with another layer of dipped biscuits - the kids used to love making it

Made it yesterday...easy & delicious. Chocolate-cheese Triangle. You can triple the recipe, no problem.
1/2 cup (4 oz) margarine
1/2 cup (4 oz sugar)
1lb farmer cheese
1 egg
drops of vanilla essence
36 tea biscuits
milk to soak
Cream sugar & marge, add the rest of the ingredients still using the beaters until its all smooth & well blended. Dip 12 biscuits in milk & arrange on cut aluminum foil 3 across, 4 down. Spread a layer of mixture. repeat 2 x more, ending with cheese mixture. Bring your hands under the foil to form a triangle. drizzle with the following cooled chocolate frosting (I don't like to shmear it so this recipe, which is to cover 1 cake, makes enough for at least 3 cakes:
2T water
3T cocoa
4 oz sugar
1 t coffee
3 oz margarine
Boil the ingredients except margarine, stirring to prevent burning. When boiled, remove from stove & cut up margarine, stirring until it cools & blends in. Then drizzle. Freeze open, then wrap in the excess foil.
Enjoy!

I think I know what you're referring to. I made a cheese cake in second grade (I grew up in Israel) and I've been making it ever since. I don't have an exact recipe, I just make it up as I go along, tasting and adjusting, but the basic ingredients are: Biscuits dipped in milk or wine, 5% gvina levana, sugar, vanilla pudding, (I can never remember if it needs an egg, I've made it with and w/o - both are fine, so I guess it's not necessary.) You layer cookies, cheese mixture, cookies, cheese mixture, cookies, cheese mixture, then top with grated chocolate. If you want, you can add some chocolate pudding to the middle layer. Enjoy!

I was going to say that the recipe should have vanilla pudding, not jello. I don't know the recipe, though... I wanted it too!

This is chocolate moose's recipe. I prefer it bec its simpler and more like what I made in elementary school growing up.
DAIRY NO BAKE TRIANGLE CHEESECAKE - Sounds like more work than it
actually is, from Beis Rivka's afterschool program
1 package tea biscuits, twin pack if possible, with light and dark, otherwise just use one kind
1/4 cup milk and 1/4 cup wine combined in cup
For filling:
3/4 cup Farmer's or ricotta cheese
2 oz (1/2 stick) margarine or butter, softened
1 whole egg
1 pkge vanilla sugar or 1 tsp vanilla
sugar, to taste, approx 1/4 cup
Take 15 light tea biscuits and dip into liquid for just an instant.
Lay next to each other in five rows, three biscuits across, on foil.
By hand, mix cheese filling ingredients until smooth. Spread less than half the filling over light biscuits. Take fifteen dark biscuits, dip again, and lay out in same position. Spread rest of
filling on top and pick up foil, making the top meet to form a triangle. Pinch to keep shape and freeze for an hour to set. Glaze with melted chocolate chips and pour over frozen cheesecake. Cut
into 1/2 inch slices to serve. You can also keep this cake in the freezer from week to week.
*Side note- I find that making the triangle is hard, when you think of it, a triangle within a triangle of the same size doesn't really go esp with the filling there. this year I will try making the bottom (outside) layer with an extra row or two, 16 or 17, so that the inside layer fits better with 15 biscuits.

UPDATE: I just made chocolate moose's no bake triangle cheese cake.
I stuck to the 5*3, there was no other way to do it.
if you multiple the recipe (I made 3), you don't need to increase the milk/wine since it doesn't get used up much anyways (you only dip the biscuits). 1/4 Cup of sugar per cake is perfect, or slightly less if you like it less sweet and more cheesey.
as I closed each triangle I stuck one more cracker at either end and it really helped to keep the filling in. After the tinfoil was closed I was better able to fix up the triange shape.
I had a little bit of filling left over, I melted a couple of choc chips in it and I'm eating it plain. YUM!

I'm feeling a little stupid, 'cause I am not sure I get the triangle recipe.
So you have a 5 by 3 biscuit rectangle and spread the filling over it. Then you put another layer of biscuits, then another layer of the filling. Then the whole thing gets "folded" so that the 3 biscuits on one side become the sides of a triangle, if that makes sense. So it's like a triangle-shaped log, wrapped in foil, that you freeze. Right? Do I get it?
