I'm still so confused.
In one post you say the year after high school.
In the next post you say seminary instead of 12th grade.
What are you looking for?
I don't know of any school who are happy to allow a student to register there but not follow their program.
Your daughter can finish 12th grade and then go to Mivchar in Bnei Brak if she wants to do OT, social work or psychology.
The maslulim in any of the seminaries you mentioned are not full BA programs but equivalent BA programs. Which means it is a private equivalent of a degree but not a full degree and will be seen as such on a teuda.
If she is currently in a school (what the big secret is I'm not sure) where they do bagrut then the yashan or chadash will not take her. Period. Bnot Elisheva or Maalot may take her for 12th depending on the circumstances. Neither of them do the therapy/psychology style courses for maslulim. No seminary will take a girl for maslulim who has not completed 12th grade.
By pulling her out and putting her into an American seminary for 12th grade you'll find yourself in no mans land for 13th and 14th where she can't join an Israeli program because she hasn't finished high school. Doing bagrut on the side while in an American program will allow her to join a michlala afterwards but not a charedi seminary program.
To cut it short, from what I know of the system, she has to finish 12th grade in a proper, recognised school before moving on. Either where she is, or try getting her into Bnot Elisheva or Maalot.

The biggest factor though is she is really unhappy currently at where she is. At where she is hashkafically, academically and socially. It’s not 1 or the other it’s in every possible way. She is lonely, stuck and unfulfilled.
So yes you are correct it may be better to wait a year, but so far all of last year she just became more unhappy, withdrawn, outspoken, and overall not her self. I didn’t realize sooner that she was acting like that because of her feelings at school.
|
Can she find a social group out of school that would make her happier?
And how about looking into some online courses that would give her more intellectual stimulation.
(Growing up, my sisters and I were all at a school that in some ways was the best choice, but in many ways did not suit us haskafically. We all found friends and social activities outside of the school framework. That social outlet gave us a more balanced approach to the imperfect school environment, and those are the friendships we still maintain today.)

From the previous posts.
Even if misrad hachinuch says no she can do the bagruyot herself with Chedvas. That's essentially what she is doing anyway. Why does it matter if she's officially registered with her old high school?

FoxGlove, u have the COMPLETLEY wrong end of the stick. I’ve been trying to say this whole thread that I’m not AT ALL NOT EVEN REMOTLEY interested in moving schools in 12th grade. I’ve mentioned numerous times- Americans sems IS A NO. In the beginning I asked to get a better understanding but no. SHE IS FINISHING bagruyot. And if she would even consider maalot it bnot elisheva it would only be 13th or 14th as she has connections and her principal said she would get in. That’s all. I don’t know what yashan is. The issue is my daughter doesn’t want to share what school she’s incase someone finds out and I think we can all respect her want. It doesn’t make a difference. SHE WILL BE FINISHING 12TH GRADE. NO MATTER WHAT. All I’m trying to ask in this thread was about those few sems because they’ve been recommended.

No she does have friends outside of school. But school is 8-8.5 hours long. It’s a total waste of time she goes doodles walks around and comes home.

I just want to say -
I don't know if you're really American born and raised, OP, because I am finding your English is hard to follow.
People are confused here because your posts aren't clear.
Also, if you have never heard of yashan (or chadash, or snif, which are the largest and most established and Bais Yaakov-y of the BY seminars), I am even wondering if your daughter is the type to attend and or bnot elisheva...
But based on what you're writing, it sounds like she could and maybe should attend bnot elisheva for 13-14 because that's where her principal feels able to get her into

You don't need permission, you just sign up. |
I feel like we're going round in circles.
The one fixed point is that she is going to do bagrut.
The menahelet recommends that she do bagrut this year, after which she will help your daughter get into Maalot or Bnot Elisheva to continue a maslul.
You seem to prefer the idea that she does bagrut through her school in a semi-detached manner, while going to Beis Yaakov and studying in one of the maslulim at the same time.
They are unlikely to accept her into yud-gimmel until she has finished yud-beit.
Even if they did accept her, they would not allow her to do bagrut at the same time. That means she has to do bagrut either before or after going to Beis Yaakov. (Her academic position means it makes more sense for her to do it this year.)
She plans on a career that would mean going to university, possibly after finishing a maslul in Beis Yaakov. This means it would take longer before she is in a position to earn a living.
In other words there is no perfect solution, and you have to decide which imperfect solution can best accommodate her. Chedvas would not have a problem with her doing bagrut, and would give her the social and intellectual stimulation that seems to be lacking, but the menahelet fekt she has more potential, so you seem to have dropped the idea. Your daughter has a lifetime to fulfill her potential, but needs a solution that works for this year.
From a practical perspective, it seems to make the most sense to stay where she is and finish bagrut, and then switch. The question is whether she can push herself through a difficult year or not.
(Ofakim seems to have fallen off the table lately, but I still think it would be a good option to look into for next year. They have girls from a wider range of backgrounds, and would help her settle down to herself and grow in herself more than a Beis Yaakov in Jerusalem might.)

Lol that is because my computer is old and I type fast and half the time I think quicker than I type so it’s a lil all over the place.
I know sniff I just haven’t heard actual info abt yashan. I don’t know that about that sem. What type, teachers, etc.
Idk what to say if my posts are over the place.
I started this thread to talk abt sems.
I had another post abt doing 12th and/ or sem in the same year.
Somehow I’m mixing the two that is my fault sorry.

It's not.
The magen is the "mock" exam they do before the real chutz as a practice.
You don't seem to understand the system at all.
OP I am backing out. You are being very aggressive when I am actually trying to be helpful and understand your needs.

I understood that she doesn't have friends out of school, but from your comments here and on the other thread, it sounds like she doesn't have friends in school either. That's why I'm suggesting that she or you look for a framework where she could meet other girls and make friends our if school.

Because you're not talking about sems. Your questions are about high schools, and pist high school vocational training programmes, which are very different to sems.
You might know what you mean, but you need to use language that other people can understand what you are referring to.

I’m sorry it is not at all my intention to be aggressive I am just not sure how to explain myself. And I’m getting frustrated at myslef but expressing it in my posts I apologize.
My daughter takes bagruyot not chutzim. The mock exam is a matkonet.

The only knowledge I have on those high schools are from what I’ve learnt here. I am trying to get a better understanding but am just getting more confused. This is my first time dealing with the whole sem situation so I don’t get how maalot and bnot elisheva are not sems but high schools why on earth would the principal recommend them then?

That seems to be what she is suggesting.
Israeli girls do not normally take a year in sem, and it isn't a concept that really exists. Advanced kodesh studies are combined with vocational training, based within the high school.
