All the above doesn't have to be cleaned for Pesach. Totally possible to close off the area and sell it for Pesach. No need to do bedikat chametz if nobody ever eats there.

You completely missed the point

Op I feel you.
I lived in a too small apartment for a couple years and I declare that no human being should live like that. It’s one of the hardest most underrated challenges.

I relate to the ideas that people dole out, that would be a dream to implement, if only the space for them would exist! IKEA closets? As if there is one empty stretch of wall. On top of the bookshelves? Who has bookshelves in a micro apartment?

I feel ya sis.

Finally someone who understands my struggles.

I hear you I had this too and it was hard! Can I say what I did when I had this situation?

Ignore this if you don’t want advice.
I got white cabinets with doors and put them wherever they could fit, so one was a pantry, one was a coat closet, one was a linen closet etc..

I hear you! Its very hard! I didnt even have walk in closets!
I did the same as amother Peru! I also bought a coat rack.

Dont live without closets! Make your own!
(I admit I never had a good place for the vacuum. It lived in a corner of my kids room.

Hi! I'm back to update you all on today's frame of mind. As much as I didn't want to hear ideas last night, some of it obviously seeped in and I already implemented one small change and created a decent place for the vacuum cleaner!!! I'm so excited by this upgrade!

Your towels, and you take them down with your folding stepstool, of course.
What I keep up there? Books, seforim, giant packs of toilet paper, tissues, and paper towels, my iron, luggage, blankets...you name it.
Our cute little corner shelf unit is in the hallway outside our one and only bathroom.
We keep the vacuum cleaner under/behind the laundry hamper (it's one of those metal frames with canvas bags hanging from it)

My kids need access to the towels and they don't reach the top of a seforim shank with a stepstool. Also the space is small, about six - eight inches so can't handle storage like luggage or whatever.

I don't have a hallway and definitely no corners in or near the bathroom. The closest available corner for a shelving unit would be the dining room and no, I'm not putting towels on display there.

You have a sectional laundry hamper? My dream!!! I have a collapsible laundry basket in the bathroom that gets taken out and put in to the tub each time someone showers or bathes.

I'm sure you're already doing this but I put an over-the-door-hook rack with 6 hooks, plus an additional one that falls lower for smaller ones with 2 hooks, to the back of the bathroom door.
Each person has their towel (I sewed different color button on each), uses it, and puts it back (or I put back on hook). No need to store. Wash and dry and put back on hook.
Extra emergency towels up on top where you need a ladder to get to. But the ones for day to day use are in the bathroom to stay

Wait...you have an attic?? I'm sorry, but that's positively luxurious.

I thought so too when we moved in here. Finally a place for Pesach stuff, clothes kids outgrew, bathing suits, Purim costumes, shaimos, baby gear when not in use. It is amazing to have that space which we didn't have previously!!! But it doesn't help me find a space to store my mop. I even considered putting suitcases there but we use them quite often and hauling heavy stuff up and down the pull-down attic steps is not something I can do. To be dependent on Dh in order to pack is something I rather avoid.

I have an idea that nobody has mentioned, it’s a bit out of the box but has helped us tremendously.
A floating shelf on top of every door. A simple floating shelf from ikea with a bin can be so so helpful. For example if you really use your iron only for perler beads then there’s no reason it should take up good real estate behind an easily accessible door. Put it in a bin above the door and it’s there whenever you need it.

I added top kitchen cabinets in all the bedrooms for storage. Doesn't take up floor space and I thought it would look strange but they're plain white and it kind of blends in. So useful!

The only bedroom with space for top cabinets is my own. I need one room to be a sanctuary to escape from all the chaos, so no, not doing that.

Unless you have lived in a small apartment with many kids it’s really hard for other people to understand the stress of keeping everything just so to squeeze out every inch and still not be able to fit everything! I used to dream of just being able to throw a lot in a cabinet without carefully stacking ot perfectly so I could fit it all in. A lot of these suggestions are so not realistic in an apartment that is filled to the max. Though I must say bunk beds is a must when in this stage. If you put in a bunkbed you can fit an entire wall of ikea closets and have tons of storage.

No, not an entire wall. Both beds are currently under windows so I'd gain the wall space under the window. Still better than nothing but not the magic solution I'm looking for.

I know the struggle.

I did away with the coat closet. It became storage for that stuff. Hooks went on the wall for in use jackets & the rest are in the owners clothing on their rooms. Also put a stick vacuum on the wall near the kitchen. Bath towels got hooks in the bathroom. Tablecloths with the kitchen towel and bibs stock.

Yeah that's where it's at around here too. The coat closet is the everything including the coats closet.

Bunk beds are a pain in the neck so if you aren’t gaining a ton I would leave the current setup alone

What about something like this for your laundry stuff https://www.containerstore.com.....aw.ds

Above toilet storage for bath towels. Or a standalone bathroom cabinet if you have room for that.

Yeah and with all our kids kah and each one needs some private space too, and the house was not built with our lifestyle in mind... It collides in my face.

Yeah we do the each kid has their own towel system. I do need extra towels for so many things. I use them when rags won't suffice to clean up a mess, to keep on the floor during bathtime to avoid slipping on wet tile, to keep noise out of a kids bedroom once that kid is sleeping but my big ones are still up and noisy. I'm constantly washing extra towels.

Seems like you have high ceilings. From the top of the door frame in my house until the ceiling is less than a foot, plus the space the shelf takes up is another inch. It would be great for tissue storage but not for an iron.

Cool cart! Where would it go??? In our tiny bathroom in the three inches between the sink and the toilet? That doesn't leave space for anyone over the age of three to actually sit on the toilet seat.

If I'd have space for a standalone bathroom cabinet, it would be there already!!!
