I own 2. One that I wear for work, shabbat, and when I feel like I need hair to make myself look good outside the house (dh prefers tichels at home).
The other serves the primary purpose of filling up the wig box in the corner of my bedroom I have never liked the cut, and have been too busy to find someone good to doctor it. It's tough, though- the one I wear is beautiful, but takes too much abuse- I don't think it was made for such heavy use.

I admire all you ladies who put up with wearing a wig. I can't imagine anything less comfortable; even a thong seems better. Maybe I am just more sensitive than most....

You have to find a good one. I often forget mine.

I think sheitels look beautiful and natural (what's more natural than hair?)
I own 4.
1- shevy 12 inch layered, cut bangs into in a half a year ago and had it died twice in 4 years. I wear it everyday bc its my best wig
1- shaina sheitel in a pony (wore it for about a year down for shabbos but its pretty dead), walking, exercising, rain sheitel
1- tehilla shabbos long sheitel, very comfortable, not much hair though, wore it 2 years
1- freeda sale sheitel, thought it would be a rain shetiel bc its shortish and cheaper but it was cut so well that I can often wear it for shabbos (esp in the summer when its hot to have a long sheitel). It needs to be washed and set often to look good.

I own one shevy that I wore to my wedding and I wear it basically everyday for the past 3.5 years. -shevy
I also got a hatfall when I got married that I wore with extra wide headbands.-shevy
My mil gave me a human hair wig that is like steel wool, ive gotten it cut many times and its just uncomfy and itchy so I havent worn it in over 1.5 years. -jacquelyn
and last chanuka I bought a full wig that I wear on friday nights with a white band and when im in a place that a longer sheitel would b frowned upon...-fortune

I wear my 3 year old amazing shevy every day, it still looks brand new. my husband washes it for me in our bath tub every couple weeks.
I also own an isabel that I wore only the first 6 months after I purchased it, it doesn't lay right and I would give it away if I thought someone would actually wear it. where I live there aren't really gmachs.

I currently have 5 wearable ones, but three of them are almost 5 years old.
3 are top quality customs, but have been re-cut to make it last longer, one I bought second-hand for a fifth of the original price, and one is a really cheap human hair that was bought for the house, but looks so good that I wear it almost every day.

Maybe I am not married long enough- I can't figure out what in the world you are talking about when you all refer to the gyno appointment issues- why can't you wear your regualr shaitel?? Please explain fully. Thanks.
Amother because I am embarrassed.

Well to answer u with a question Why do I need to wear a really nice one when visiting the gyno, actually it is the one I give birth in too.
Don't worry I do wash and style them
Chsh
A tichel wont do, my hair would be all over, so a sheital is the way 2 go. It's my minhag.

I have 3:
a gorgeous full curly 14" sheitel g that I use for shabbos/simchas.
a ratty 18" wavy fall for everyday. But it's gotten SO frizzy and oxydized I think it's on it's last legs. I had it dyed so it looks a little better but despite the sheitelmacher's claim that it's mixed sythetic and human hair, I am positive it's totally synthetic and just feels like wool or plastic at the end of the day
a cute straight short one (a little shorter then shoulder-length, sort of like an edgy rock and roll pageboy look). I bought it 2 months ago and I haven't washed or styled or even brushed it since I got it. It still looks awesome. By far my favorite. I think it's on its way to replacing my fall as an every day sheitel.
