I used to have people over all the time
I have only 1 sibling who lives far
So we had friends, kiruv shabbosim , couples, girls, men from Israel working for matzahs bakery ....
Almost every shabbos and yt
But then I got divorced and nobody comes
I tried inviting but ppl say they're uncomfortable coming
I miss it though

We used to have non family guests more frequently, meaning neighborhood families. Then it got too hard to host with little kids and then covid hit and then we got out of the habit of hosting. We have family over fairly frequently and our older kids occasionally invite friends over, but we don't really have neighbors over for meals anymore. I'm an introvert who procrastinates, so it's a real tircha to have guests when I'm usually still cooking up to the last minute on a regular Shabbos. Plus our house is a literal disaster area with leaks and holes and all sorts of problems that we're about to fix with major renovations. Maybe once the house is in better shape I'll feel more up to having guests again.

I live in the same city.
I see neighbors getting invited all the time, but we've almost never been invited to friends/neighbors.

We love hosting, and love going to friends. We have bh 4 very young close in age children, so it is a handful in both directions, but also one of my favorite parts of shabbosand yt. We host overnight less often!
