One of my children was way ahead of the others in his/her class and the principal decided to send this child to the next grade. I absolutely refused, and glad. As mentioned above, a child may be ahead in one area but behind in another that hasnt presented itself clearly. Only push / skip a grade if an outside, super professional educato/ specialist spent time to test the child and approved it. Its hard to be a year younger than your classmates. You are opening the door to jealousy, bullying, maturity, social problems, and other issues etc. etc.
