I also gave my DH a shabbos tallis and bag for our 1 year anniversary. My DH wears his tallis to shul shabbos morning so it basically is in storage all week. It does come in handy on chol hamoed, etc. when he'll go to shul not wearing his tallis.

Same here.
You can also sew your self a bag and then have someone with an embroidery machine put on a design to your choosing and his name. Buying velvet material and making it your self will be 10 times cheaper.
