You may want to look into Mesivta of West Bloomfield. Near Detroit. They have a dorm. Small warm friendly place.

Peekskill is not what you're looking for. Scranton is another good option to look into - solid learning, wholesome, and very warm.

I'm the one whose DS found Roosevelt too much. He was advised by R' Binyamin Strauss to look into Scranton, Ohr Naftoli, and Bayonne. He ended up going elsewhere, which in the end worked out for him, but it was a pleasant surprise that he ended up there and was happy. Not what I'd recommend for someone who fits your son's description. Rubanowitz is another option to look into.

Scranton last year was getting hard to get to. Really wanted very smart and motivated boys.

I called ohr naftali and they basically said it is very hard to get into as they are full.

What is the name of the yeshiva in PA? I assume Rubinowitz is the Rosh yeshivas name?

How many years ago was that?
Because last year Scranton shifted a little and only wanted very smart, very motivated boys

I think it may be a lower level of learning than Scranton and Denver, but I may be wrong. Very nice rebbeim.

I didn’t know that Rubanowitz had a high school. I thought it was just Beis Medrash.

What about Cincinnati?
