My class made our 5th grade teacher cry. She was a first-year teacher and we were out of control. She had to shout to talk above the noise in class. She couldn't get itto be quiet.
Our 6th grade teacher cried when she spoke about the class above us was so special and how much she missed them. How amazing every girl in that class was. It made us feel pretty awful.
In 7th grade we made one teacher cry daily.
In 8th grade another teacher always looks ready to cry cuz no one would listen to her.
In 9th grade one teacher ran of class crying and threatened that she would never forgive us.
My class was a handful.
I was always a good kid though. I felt so bad for the teachers.
Looking back we had a combination of not such smart kids and brilliant kids which led to one half always being under or over stimulated.
We were a hard class to teach.

I remember my first grade teacher crying by ana Hashem hoshia na. It was an emotional deep felt moment and I felt like I was witnessing something personal. But she built the foundation of a personal connection with Hashem because I really felt she was crying to someone familiar.
Idk if I'm making sense but every time I say hallel I know I'm talking to my father.

My Hebrew teacher teared up when he played a song, based on a true story, of an IDF medic who tended to a soldier wounded in battle, only to be hit and killed himself. I can never hear that song without weeping, either, but it was surprising to see a grown man and army veteran do the same.

My HS class experienced a lot of tragedy including the death of a classmate. Everyone cried at our graduation including the principal. We recently had a 20 year reunion and he choked up again speaking to us! (Hi classmates )

In high-school the class made the Navi teacher cry. I can't remember what happened, she was being pretty horrible to us and we were pretty horrible back and she stormed off crying. We felt really bad about it, but I think it was partially related to what she did in the first place.

I took an English class in 12th grade about mythology and folklore, and while talking about transformation myths my teacher read us the velveteen rabbit. The problem was, she was about 7 months pregnant and very hormonal, and reading the book made her cry. She probably should have asked a student to read it instead.

We had an assembly on the morning of 9/11. The principal shared that many people lost their lives and then said something along the lines that this Rosh Hashana, there will be many people who won’t be with their families. Then he started crying.

No. I was born in 1990 and went to public school. Never saw a teacher cry. One of my teachers had her only child (an adult) die while I was in her class. She took a while off, but never cried in front of us.
My teachers would have been mostly Boomers, the olders the generation above, the younger ones Gen X, and it just wasn't done.

I was born in the 80’s. I remember our principal crying when she told us someone’s mom passed away. (A girl in a diff class’s mom passed away)

In 7th grade my class made our teacher cry. I don't remember the details but we were probably being difficult. And this wasn't a post sem 19 year old. She was a bubby with many many years of teaching experience.

Believe me we lost every last bit of respect for that teacher after the incidence. Although we were quiet thereafter out of sympathy.

Volunteer wrote: | On 9/11 one of my teacher's son was working in one of the Towers. She went into the bathroom and cried as though her heart was being torn to pieces, no control whatsoever. Just full out. We hugged her and tried to keep her company at least. It was a few hours before she finally got a phone call from her son (she had a cell phone, remember not everyone had cell phones in 2001). His office was on one of the lower floors and he managed to get out in time to survive. We heard his entire play by play story that afternoon. |
Wow, BH he was okay ❤️

Ironically, it was two male teachers. The two Halachs rebbes we had in highschool. We only had one or two more male teachers who taught us in highschool.
1st teacher found out in middle of class that R'Avigdor Miller was niftar. He was close to him since childhood.
2nd was the other halacha teacher who told a story of a mother and son reuniting after the Holocaust and he would cry describing their reunion. It seems he would say this story every year, (connected to a dvar Torah on a certain paragraph) and every year he would cry.

My seventh grade Rebbi cried on numerous occasions in class. He was a masterful teacher and we all thought he was amazing.
He cried early in the year when we practiced a fire drill, and he introduced the activity by asking us to raise our hands if we were ever in a building on fire, and then to keep them raised if we were ever in a building on fire where someone we knew didn't make it out. Only his hand was raised.
He cried telling a story about how he had moved from Israel to America when he was seven or eight years old, and someone teased him in the playground when he tried to make conversation, and had said, "Me no speak no English." Me No Speak No English became the class mantra for how we should all feel confident when we tried to read the pesukim out loud in class. (Man, I'm crying now thinking about it.)
He cried quite a few times getting us to imagine what it was like being Dovid HaMelech, in all of his challenges in Shmuel Beis.
He cried when he would tell us the things we should think about while we said Tehillim as a class for those in situations of tzara.
A decade or two later, he flew in for many weddings of his old talmidim and talmidos. Best teacher ever!
