We live in Brooklyn and are looking to insure 2 vehicles. We BH have no accidents/tickets etc. For some reason our current policy went up, we were told due to "a New york rate increase". Can anyone recommend a person/company, reputable that may have low rates for good drivers in New York"?

We had luck with Geico. I don't have their #. Gte a few quotes and then you'll know if you are getting the best rate.

Geico was almost 700 dollars more than what we have now, liberty mutual!

Try Allstate. We totally lucked out with them, when we had some accidents on our record and Geico wanted almost $3000 for 6 months!!!
My DH went online . not sure which website, but an agent from Allstate contacted us, and we got full coverage (had to, as our car is financed) for $900 for 6 months. We have it ever since, even though it has recently gone up like $200 per term because of a small accident Dh had last winter on the icy roads.

if you don't have a new or leased car and aren't making payments you can minimize your insurance to state minimum and pay hardly anything ...
I'm paying $125 for 6 mos with geico ...

We have Allstate.
Full coverage for a 2008 Minivan costs us $470 for half a year.
