Big tooth is coming out before little one fell out

My sons big tooth is out in the gums and his baby tooth is just slightly loose -
Is this normal? He's 8. I'd like to avoid dentist appointments if I could so if anyone knows if this is normal or something to worry about?

It's totally normal. It happens all the time. I remember that it happened to me.

my sibs had a second layer of teeth in their mouths... (bottom jaw). at first my mother freaked out, but it turned out fine. as soon as the teeth fell out, they moved into place. it was actually quite miraculous to see.

totally normal. you don't have to worry if the baby tooth is loose at all - it'll be fine

It happened to me too. It turned out that I went to the dentist, and he pulled 4 of the teeth. Within 15 minutes, the adult teeth all moved in.

You can take them to a dentist and they will numb the gum and just pull out the tooth. It happened 2x to my son.

very normal, I've had that with my dd with 4 teeth. I went to the dentist with her and they pulled it out and the new tooth grew in beautifully..

do I need to go to the dentist or can I just wait it out.
I'd rather avoid the bill for pulling it if it's not necessary - the dentist makes enough off our teeth..

you can wait ... or tug on it yourself ... you know tie a string to the doorknob and his tooth and slam it shut ... or some such invention ...

my dd's tooth came in behind and others grew in front - it was fascinating watching the orthodontist put springs and slowly get it to pull it forward ... Mr. Green

You should go to the dentist. If you leave it the big tooth may grow in crooked, and orthodontist bills are much higher than one tooth pulled, believe me. If you have an honest dentist he should tell you if it's necessary.

Look into dental insurance. some of them online are very low cost and can be a huge help. I never had any coverage until recently, and I was amazed.

Your dentist doenst look to be too honest. He should accept you if something like this happens or if you want to show him something. Go look for a new dentist..

Don't worry this has happened to both of my children. This is very normal. I work for a dentist and he says not to worry.

All my kids have had this issue. At first I was so nervous, no one I spoke to had seen this, I brought in my oldest and the dentist said its fine. At that point the baby tooth was not too loose. The dentist told us to wait a month or so, and if it didn't fall out, he would pull it out. It ended up coming out on its own. Oh and shortly afterwards the tooth starts to move foward. I just try to get my kids to somehow brush between the two teeth , but not sure if htat really happens.

I think that every single one of my teeth had to be pulled because it wasn't budging.
It's normal. I'd wait a little longer and then make a dentist appt if things don't get moving.

One of my cousins had this--her 2 front top teeth came in before her baby teeth fell out. We called her "shark" because of her "layers" of teeth. I think they fell out on their own ultimately.

A few years ago when I taught third grade 2 kids in my class had this as well.
