so there was a water main break today in a big part of monsey- forshay , wesley hills etc. My daughters school is in that area.... so they canceled school ( I totally understand that) however at 9:30 the water was all back on and school is cancelled for the entire day needless to say they are having midwinter vacation from this friday through tuesday. When I call the school and ask why there is no school the girl says she does not know why? I am pissed right now !!! Am I the only one? This is rediculous especially when we pay such high tuition and we've had many snow days already here in monsey..!!!!!

I don't live in monsey but I have friends that do. every time there is a drop of slush on the ground, east ramapo cancels bussing and then the schools cancel. It's ridiculous!!! She told me that one morning they had a 2 hr. delay b/c of 3 inches of snow, and the busses started picking up children and then the bus company decided not to continue and they went back and dropped off all the kids that were already on the bus without notifying the school first!!! Her neighbor had already left to work and B"H she happened to notice her 1st grade daughter crying on the porch!!!
I say sue the bus company and complain big time to school!!
(BTW here up north, we have school, come rain, or 3 feet of snow......)

it's extremely irresponsible for a bus company to drop off six year olds at home without knowing if there is a parent home!
