I've been looking all over for a straight simple and classy slimming cut below the knee skirt (not too short, not 3/4 length) and I just can't seem to find it! any suggestions?
( I found one that really complimented me but It was in a frum clothing store and thus priced 149..)

She said she saw it for $149. I'm 100% sure a dressmaker would charge much, much less, even with the cost of fabric and I'm not sure how much they charge, but not that much.

let me know if you find anything nice. I'm also looking for nice everyday skirts. I was lucky enough to find a skirt a couple of weeks ago in a shop and when I went to pay for it was only €3 - it was sale stock. Unfortunately its not very forgiving so I need to wear magic underwear to look ok.

I have two skirts that fit your description exactly - one black, one dark gray. They were much longer when I bought them - about 3/4 length, but they were good prices and I was tired of searching so I bought them and took them to a seamstress who cut them to the length I preffered. I think she charged me $10 a skirt to cut.

Try JJill on sale skirts - they have many long skirts usually without slits

Buy the skirt at full price.
Show to seamstress, and then return skirt to store.
Don't ever wear it, just buy in order to show. and quickly return.
Is that terrible?
