I came across a recipe for ka'ak and it called for yansoon. I asked DH's syrian grandma, but she said she didn't know. (I think she didn't want me to go to the trouble of making ka'ak when we can just buy it in Brooklyn) Actually, does anyone have a good recipe for ka'ak?

I think it's either fennel or annis seeds. I shoud have recipe somewhere--bli neder will post once I find them. But mine is a sweet one, not the savory one that you're probalby looking for.
