Here's a video of DS' reaction to seeing his new look - he was dancing away! (Sorry it's sideways)
Don't have normal photos on the computer yet.

OMG... he looks SOOOO different! Not all kids have such a drastic change, but he does! How are you getting used to it? He's very cute.

On Monday, when I went to pick him up from school I didn't recognize him. Even though his hat was on, so technically, it should be the same face that I see. But it wasn't. It was soooo weird.
But now I'm pretty much used to it.
Of course, the barber messed up, and one side the peyos is waayyyyyy too short. Even the Rebbi by his hachnosa l'cheder made a comment. But the other side is more normal. He also has a TON of hair in front. I think he should've used thinning scissors over there.
I just told DH everyone knows the first haircut comes out funny, and we'll have too wait until it grows out.
DS seemed very pleased with his haircut. The hardest part was getting him into the chair. Once he was sitting, he had no problem with the scissors, nor the machine.
I guess he realized that it meant no more knots!

I wanted to but the ponytail only measured 8-9 inches and most places wanted at least 10 inches and some only 12 inches braided.

Realeez,
Go for it!
DS' hair is being donated. Zichron Menachem takes 25cm. It's less than 12".
Split it into a few ponytails, and make those into braids. I think it'll be long enough.
Ours is ready to go. I just need to get it into an envelope with a stamp.....
Here's the info:

He is 5 1/2 now. I have the hair but he was being silly and pulled it out the pony holder way back when. It was probably about 8 to maybe 9 inches total. 25 cm is about 10 inches and braiding would make it shorter... At that point s/o had told me that there was a place to donate to give children peyos but I couldn't find any info -- I really tried!

I wish I had a sheitel that nice! I had blow-dried his hair before that picture so it gave it that extra body. I wish his little sister would have lucked out to have hair like that but at least she doesn't have the ringlet/Shirley Temple look like her older brother did!

I can't WAIT to cut it! There is crying and screaming every day that I try to brush it. Some days I don't feel like fighting, so I don't brush. Then the next day is even worse.
I'll try to donate it to the organization mentioned here, if it will be long enough.
