That must be an interesting taste. Do you think it makes a difference if you use a red one? Smile

Maybe I should have written Pink' Burka? The taste is enhanced by the color. Red would taste just wrong.

Yup! It's only dh and me, but I use a large crockpot because everything goes in: eggs, chulent, meat, kugel and kishka. I don't keep on a blech. It's great. I even put the challah on top of the crock pot an hr before teh meal to warm it up a bit.

Help! I haven't done a thing (except my soup is on but without carrots cuz I don't have any in the house) and I'm really strapped for ideas. I need side dishes and salad ideas... anyone?

soup without carrots???? I think they are essential!

I have no ideas, I make almost the same thing every week. I just made a huge batch of cake and I'm worried the egg whites aren't stiffening. argggggh.

they'll be added later (boiled separately) when I eventually get some. I think that's all we're having this week. I better have enough challah in the freezer or else..............

phew, the eggs seem to be stiffening at last.

this is what I make:

baby roast potatoes with crushed onion and garlic and rosemary (from kosher pallette)
or baby roast pots. with pesto.
sweet pot. or squash pie. (if you are scared of pie crusts I make them very easily in the food processor.)
rice
everyone loves potatoe kugel
proper british style roast potatoes

You know I used to make all sorts of exotic food for shabbos...but I realise people are coming to me for a shabbos meal, so I am much more traditional now. Guest always get excited over things like kugel, farfel and so on.
