In my house we call it underwear but my dd started callling panty's
so now I call it pants for the girls.

I have only girls, so of coarse we call it panties. My brother though informed me w/ a very queer look when I was talking to his son, he says panties are for girls. UNDIES are for boys.. though at that age they look the same

somehow we wound up saying undies for dd. My dh makes up funny rhyming words for everything and I think it may originally have come from him...

I'm British so it's knickers, I just have girls, but if I had a boy it would be pants

altho I heard alot of chasidish ppl saying 'nickers' for boys underwear n thta sounds funny to me, like saying panties for a boy.

In our house the children all wear panties. Adults wear underpants or "gatchis" (for boxers). I don't know at what age we make the transition from panties to underpants - it sorta happens suddenly.
