embarrassed Thanks BATB and pineapple. It doesn't take that long at all. Just remember to roll each strand very thin because the dough rises --- a lot!

kikavu- where do you have glare? Can you post or send me a pic so I can see what you mean?

I just turn off the lights and don't use flash.

You mean that sparkly look to the flames?

I think it's because the camera isn't focusing right on the flames.
Do you press the shutter button half-way till it focuses before snapping all the way? Try that.

chayitty, I used auto. Worked nicely, so I had no reason to play around. I can check the photo info, though.

it looks more freeze action so I would say the shutter sped was decenetly fast
I likeed the look of the blur to make it look like more movement in the pic...I also added more blur to some flames on ps..
the prob. though is that my son was moving so if I blow this pic up big he will look blury as well...

The pictures of the candles on this page (without kids) are:
1/125
1/60
1/100
in that order.

I was going for the look of menora in the front being in focus, and the one in the back (and the reflections in window) being blurred.

I was going to ask how you kept your kid still enough for low shutter speed! LOL
I guess since his face isn't in the photo, a bit of blur to his hair won't do much damage. Smile

not sure how far ur manual settings work but a good way to achieve that is to make ur apeture as high as possiable..I can open up as big as f2.8..I think most better point and shoots can open as big as f4
obviously zooming in is also a great way to blur the backround...
my son looks lear cuz the image is a 36x54 shruken down...I woukld say I can get a really nice 8x10 but wouldnt go bigger,,,I also sharpen it in ps...
