Also interesting I may get shocked responses, but I have noticed in Eretz Yisroel there r familys with way more children then here in chutz laaretz. Why is that and don't tell me the women r stronger. Or perhaps, perhaps it's b/c we r lazier Sad

Nah! T'must be something in the Israeli water that is making the women there more fertile...

and I'm trying to manage with just one!!!

What is there to be so amazing? After a certain number of children the social service pays for a house-help, usually a Philipino, who has to do all the menial jobs... It is amazing how women with 3,4,5,6 kids get their household done, but 22? pah - the philipinit does 3/4 of it!

The Duggars' religion is the Christian equivalent of what being frum is to we Jews...but, instead of them covering their hair, their religion is just the opposite of ours. They believe that G-d gave woman her hair as a covering, for her glory, and that cutting it into a style is conforming to worldly standards and that women should let it grow naturally. That religion's standards of tznius are the same as ours, and much of what they hold by is taken from the same sources as ours are.
(I did a paper in college on that particular sect because the similarities intrigued me, in case you're wondering where I got all that.)

What are you talking about? I know a mother of 13 who has never had a cleaning lady. After 3 kids (assuming no twins), the oldest is already able to offer some sort of assistance.

A few years ago, Michelle Duggar was interviewed for an article in a parenting magazine. (I cannot recall which magazine it was, or I'd mention it so you could read it for yourselves). In line with the topic of domestic help, she runs her household with the precision of a military operation. There is a schedule AND there is also plenty of love to go around. She also mentioned that in getting ready to go somewhere, each older child is assigned a younger child as a "buddy" (the word she chose) to be responsible for readying. I am quite sure that our own large frum families do much the same...two parents cannot do it all!
