1 can chickpeas, drained but reserve liquid
1-3 Tablespoons techina
garlic cloves, as many/few as you like
splash of lemon juice, to taste
cumin, to taste
In a food processor, mince garlic and add chickpeas. Process until chopped fine. Add techina, lemon juice and cumin...amounts depend on personal preference. Process till smooth. If the chumus is too thick, slowly add the reserved chickpea juice until you get a desired consistancy.

cm, it's chunky until you add the reserved liquid back in. but once you add the liquid, process it for a minute or two and it will get very smooth.

I made chumus for the first time on Friday and it was great, better than Sabra and all those other brands. 8) DH loved it.
I'm thinking of getting more creative next time with additions like roasted red peppers or chopped green olives...anyone tried it?

unless you want it chunky, I'd find a way to grind it.

There is an absolutely heavenly humus recipe in KBD short on time book in the appetizer section.
Ingredients
• canned chickpeas (½ of a 15 oz. can)
• canned small white beans such as Cannellini beans (½ of a 15 oz. can)
• 1½ cloves garlic, crushed
• ¼ cup Tehini paste
• 3 Tbsp lemon juice
• 2 full tsp soy sauce
• ¾ tsp Kosher salt
• ¾ tsp ground cumin
• ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
• small dash white pepper
• 2 Tbsp + 1 tsp sp olive oil
• 2 Tbsp cold water
Preparation
Combine all ingredients and blend until smooth, yet chunky.
This is the recipe, halved. Yield 1 lb. container
