I don't nkow about those you describe specifically, but try shutterfly.com or snapfish.com and see if they offer something like what you're looking for.
I love their photo books.

Shutterfly, snapfish etc are not exactly what you're describing, they are photobooks that you put together online but they are printed on thin magazine-like paper and the books themselves are pretty thin. They can be very nice and they run around $30-$40 although these sites run promotions all the time. (I just got one for free).
I found this website: Somerset Albums
You download their software and create beautifully graphically designed albums (like wedding albums) - the outcome is a proper album with a leather cover, hard pages etc. Price range is about $500.

Picaboo is my favorite service. They're more pricey than the others but have a LOT more flexibility in backgrounds, layouts, etc. And they have a book with flush-mount, hard pages. Theirs is either $349 or $449 depending on which size you choose.
I've used them - but not for that album. We did a babies' first year album that came out fantastic. And the paper quality was much nicer than mypublisher - which I used for mother's day last year.
