DS is a brilliant but mischeivous and rebellious boy. He had detention (again) and was told by one of his teachers to write a 500-word summary of the lesson in which he misbehaved. I came across this as I was cleaning the house for Shabbos:
500-WORD SUMMARY OF TODAY'S LESSON FOR RABBI _________
At the start of the day’s lesson at approximately 8:31 we lined up outside for Two-Minute Lineup and, one by one, marched inside approximately fifteen minutes later. When the class had finally settled, Chaim walked in and said he was late because he just had his hanochus teffilin four days ago. He sat down, and we continued with the lesson, or rather, started it. About ten minutes later Avremi H walked in and was informed that he was thirty minutes late. He replied that it was not true and that he was only twenty minutes late because school started at 8:40 and it was now 9:02. The class was then informed that class only starts at 8:40 on Mondays and Thursdays because of “kriyoh,” and that today wasn’t Monday or Thursday.
We were then told to start studying for the test. About one minute later we were informed we had eight minutes left. Then, ten minutes later we were told to Hurry Up because we only had five minutes left. We were then handed out a sheet that we thought was a test but was, in actual fact, revision. So Eli V, among others, began to complain that we thought the test would be tomorrow. We were then told that this was not the test. When we began going through the sheet a few genuises started snickering because they were still under the impression that this was indeed the test and that we were going through the answers. HaRav ________ HaKohen informed them that this was not the real test but a practise sheet, and that we would be given the test as soon as we were finished. We then went through the whole double-sided-single-sheet. After that everyone put their stuff away in preparation for the test. Our teacher was about to give them out, when he decided not to give them out. He claimed the reason we weren’t going to do this test was that we were a bit behind due to his recent two-week trip to Crown Heights, NY, NY, USA for four weeks. He then repeated himself about ten times, emphasising that we shouldn’t expect such a neis to occur every time there was a test.
He then started talking about boys who have tragically LOST THEIR BOOKS, announcing that in any case we were almost finished with the green book (at which he showed us the first page of the brand new workbook) and the red kiddushin workbook, which we will be needing until 2nd semester, at which point we will be split in two and learning a new gemorroh, but that for THIS class, we would be needing our green workbooks, and not any other color. Avrohom N then asked me something and I said “No” and I was put on the board for talking. Then, as I was sitting up, my feet accidentally hit the 99c desk and it fell. I was told to pick up the desk, or the pieces of it, and that my parents would be sent a bill and also to see me at recess. About ten minutes later Avrohom said something else to me and I put up three fingers to say “three.” I was then told I was talking and again reminded to come to me at recess. I looked at the clock up on the wall. As it still read “1:47” I assumed it was broken. It didn’t matter because class ended in three minutes anyway. The bell rang approximately fifteen minutes later, and I put away my Gemorroh and my blue workbook.
I never knew ds had such a sense of humor!!

Umm, but it also sounds like the teacher needs a bit of help in his job.

that was hilarious. I hope his rebbe has a real good sense of humor. If he was 16 I would think he was my cousin. he is sarcastic just like that and couldve written that entire "essay." OMG great laugh to get my day started...

it's really too bad that his rebbe (probably) didn't appreciate that at all, because it's hilarious.

it is chutzpadik. and funny. just because op is posting it online & laughing, doesn't mean her ds didn't hear about it.
am I the only one who has to scold my kids for whatever & then hurry out of the room, so they shouldn't hear me laughing hysterically.

During our tenth grade first aid final, I wrote a very humorous essay incorporating everything we had learned that year to complain about the conditions of the classroom, I.e. that we were suffering from alternate sunstroke and hypothermia, we almost needed CPR, etc etc. shockingly the teacher took this as ultimate chutzpah and revoked my honor I was going to receive on the last day of school. I must say I was absolutely stunned. The principal even called me in - but she kinda took my side.
