I'm looking for a birthday cake for my 2 year old. We generally dont give her any cake/chocolate etc, or at most a bite or two, so I would like to make a cake that's not too sweet, but still tastes good enough that we'll also like it. I was thinking maybe something like a banana/carrot cake. Anyone have any ideas?

I think banana and carrot cake are the easiest options. banana you can do whole wheat with I think.
Would cupcakes work? You can make a cake recipe, make a bunch of cupcakes and frost them, and write one letter on each cupcake to spell happy birthday + her name. You can do it with a cake too obviously.

Banana or carrot cake are good ideas, I have a friend that used carrot cake for her sons birthday cake. There are some recipes for chocolate cake that use whole wheat flour.
