Tzipi, I also read your book recently and I loved it. What impressed me the most about how you wrote the book was how you were so open about everything that you felt, but the book was written so tzniusdikly - I have no idea where in New York you live, what school you went to, what your parents do, who your Rebbe is, etc. I guess some details could be worked out, but it wasn't necessary to put them in.

Btw in the book you used the name Spitzer for your husband… then shouldn’t your author’s pseudonym name be Spitzer. It was just a thought I had.

It would kill the suspense...

No it wouldn't have killed the suspense because it says early on in the book that she would be getting married. (Something about sending a girl a wedding invitation)

Hi Tzipi, Hi Michal,

I just wanted to say I read this book a while ago. I just wanted to say that you 2 are really amazing
people, and I truly am very inspired by both of you to come out and tell us your story. I am glad that both
of you are doing well B'H. I really truly loved this book I could not put it down for a minute. Thank you
again for writing such an inspirational book.

Hey, it's Tzipi again.

Thanks everyone for all the nice feedback!

First off- to the poster who asked about the end of the book where Michal was written bas her father's name. It was a mistake. Michal is obviously not a real name, but we chose that name together to remember a friend (in the book- Shira) who didn't make it through with us. When "Michal" wrote her afterword, she wrote that she wanted it to be in memory of the real Michal, who is not with us anymore, hence her name being bas her father. During the publishing process that line of explanation somehow got left out and that's why it was printed that way. In the second printing we changed it to just say "In memory of Shira" without her hebrew name there. It was less confusing.

Second- Yes, I get that a lot, shouldn't my name be Spitzer. But like you say- why kill the suspense? And maybe I'm one of those people who want to go into the world with her maiden name? :-) Nah, it was another thing that I just didn't think through well before we went to print. But anyway, if you read the book you'd already know how much I hated that name...

Third- B"H Michal and I are both doing really well. We have great and normal lives outside and after cancer and we are so happy that people liked the book. It means a lot to know that what we went through is helping others brave the same battles. I'll email Michal and let her know you all posted- she'll be excited to read this!

Hi everyone, it's Michal.

Tzipi emailed me to let me know that this thread has been reopened! I'm not the author, but I feel like it's my book too!

I frequent the imamother website a lot, but don't really post here. I'm following the Feb 2009 DD Club, Baruch Hashem, that's when I am iyH due with my baby. Just thought I'd share the nissim of Hashem - that there really can be an "after" after my cancer experience.

To the person who posted about the use of a father's name in my afterword, it's pretty complicated lol. Lots of people ask me why I sound like I died LOL. The afterword was written in memory of my friend "Shira" in the book. Shira's real name was Michal. That explain's the Michal bas Yaakov Moshe. When we gave it to Artscroll, they got a little confused with who Michal really was. Sorry for the confusion!

Thanks so much everyone for your feedback! It really is so nice to hear your opinions!

BGlad and Happy Family - Thanks so much! I had so much fun speaking at RCCS- it was such a great experience for me and I got to meet readers and it gave me chizuk to hear back from them too.

Lechadichila -Yes, that lady was real. I didn't make up anything in my book. Every incident that was in there really took place. I obviously did have to change details and names to protect some people, but the stuff that stays with you- that all really happened. It's sad that there are people out there who can be so mean and nasty, but then again, they are the minority. Most people I got to know when I was sick were wonderful and the truth is that I have this personality that attracts all these nutcases :-) It's like Hashem sends them to me on purpose cos He knows I can take care of them. :-)

I finally read your book and it was incredible! I never knew what it meant to laugh and cry at the same time until I read it! As soon as I finished it, I convinced a friend to buy it too.

Thanks for the blog link - now I have something else to keep me busy.
