I am a pretty chilled person, but hearing that your husband is willing to leave a baby at home to daven Because he must just daven with a minyan on shocking to me. I know no one, but my guess is that there’s probably other things that you’re struggling with. I’m sure someone will post it but there’s a famous story about a Rabbi that missed davening for dong. Chesed for a woman with a lot of children and who needed help and it turned out of the story that it was his wife that needed help and it’s no less of a chesed. I mean, there should be another word for like responsible parent. And you certainly deserve to enjoy the wedding and not have to stay home because of this. You can’t hear a fire happening.

I can't believe you would actually call CPS on someone for using a baby monitor to watch their child.

When my kids are outside, whether in the front or back yard, I sit outside with my baby monitor. Are you going to call CPS on me too?

Honestly, please do call. and let me know it's you. That way, I can make sure to sue you for harassment.

Yes I would call CPS on the OP for leaving her baby unattended while her dh went to Daven with a minyan. Sorry, a baby can't be left alone while the neighbor watches from next door.
Go ahead and sue me

Oooommmggggg cmon everyone pleeeaase. I wasnt asking for opinions from y'all; I asked for a product reccomendation.

what do all you brilliant peopl reccomend in the below scenario:
I am going to a wedding thats a 2+ hour drive from my house; leaving 3pm and getting home probably 1-2am.
My husband needs to daven maariv; no he doesnt believe in skipping minyanim.
The closest babysitter lives a 4 min drive away and nobody is available to drop her off/pick her up
My husband needs to drive to pick her up; there isnt another option.
Neighbors house is a few feet away, and she is happy to have the monitor on.
It would literally take her the same amount of time to get to my house as it would take me to get up to my third floor from doing laundry in the basement. Probably faster, cuz I dont bring the a baby monitor with me every time I go to the basement.
I simply don't believe that leaving the monitor with her for 8 min is being irresponsible.
There are many many many more things we do in our day to day life that are significantly more dangerous, but we cannot live in wrapped in a plastic bubble. Thanks for all your concern

Now, any reccomendations?

Maybe he can get 9 more men and daven with a minyan at your house.

Or as someone suggested, he should go daven early before the kids bedtime & the kids can be at a neighbors house for afew minutes.

Your husband and you are prioritizing davening with a minyan over your baby’s safety. Both of you, go to your rav and ask him what comes first. Someone who choses to daven with a minyan and leave his baby at home and won’t spend on an uber, and a wife who is happy to go to a wedding knowing this will happen is someone in need to guidance from a reputable rav.

As a mod, I cannot allow this thread to continue because if somebody were to give you a suggestion or to encourage you to do this dangerous thing, that is too much of responsibility here in case something chas vshalom happens. Somebody in this thread already shared a story where this ended in tragedy, this cannot be allowed to happen to anybody else.

OP, please feel free to start another thread, asking for advice on how to accommodate a babysitter so that your husband can have his minyan and you can go to the wedding without leaving your baby alone in the house.
