Remember when eggs were 69c a dozen
During Obama the price of eggs rose to about $7\dozen then all llthe sudden it fell to about $0.40 that is if you brought them. A bunch of places was advertising free eggs if you buy a few $$ of Groceries.

Nope. Because the junkier foods are still less expensive than the healthier foods. Obesity has always been more common in the lower income population.

It’s like $5 where I live. I stopped buying juice and since my kids don’t like plain water, we just keep on making lemonade…

During Obama when the price of bread rose there were people saying it did not go hi enough to solve the obesity problem.

No, more likely to go up. Obesity in America is not caused by too much unhealthy food as much as too little healthy food.

Healthy food is getting more expensive.

Nope
Flour, pasta, bread, cereals, etc are still some of the more affordable things.
Cheese, milk, eggs, chicken, fruits and vegetables, all skyrocketed.

I’m so happy to be getting validation on the site. I am far from poor but the amount groceries cost me lately feels bigger than my mortgage almost… We should open the support group

Golden flow informed the schools that the price of orange juice is going up significantly due to a shortage of oranges because of a hurricane.

My son was looking through the More Food You Love cookbook that I got as a Chanukah present, he asked me to make the chocolate bars pictured so I said I'll try. But at the grocery store today, almond butter was $13, coconut oil is $20 and pure maple syrup was $10. Not gonna happen. I really don't want to keep cholov yisrael anymore, I can get a twix bar for a couple of dollars and be done.

Who remembers when…
Eggs were 99cents
Milk 2.99
Cream cheese 1.99
Orange juice 2.99
Chicken cutlets 4.99
4 snack bags for a dollar

Sounds like 1950s prices except this was only a few short years ago. It’s mind boggling. I also think Jewish grocery stores are taking advantage of the situation

Why are the prices soooo out of hand these days ??
Eggs
Dairy
Frozen food
Pantry staples
And it's just getting worse by the week! It's not even staying at the price from previous week which was already higher than usual!

Unbelievable!

At this rate you'll have to move this post to the High End Purchases forum!

Why do you need to rely on pictures?

And most of your items were fruits/veggies that don't need hechsher
