Does your babysitter prop bottles?

The babies who are used to being held while eating tend to not eat much in the set up. My doctor told me that I should hold my baby and make eye contact. And no, I don't use babysitters when my kids are very little because they often don't hold the babies for feedings.

I work in a gan. Ages 4 - 12 months. We have 8 babies and 2 women. If more than 2 have to be fed at the same time, one might get a propped bottle. But what is the actual issue? I dont see a problem really. They are getting fed.

One kid took his first bottle like that at 5 months. Mother was ecstatic that her baby was willing to take a bottle.
Not everyone medically or financially are able to stay home with their babies. and as long as the babies needs are met and they aren't being ignored it's ok for them to have a couple of bottles a day propped up and if the mother needs to do it for her sanity at home to, that should be the worst thing you think she does.

I work in day care 3 babies under 4 months old we have bouncers mostly sitting up with bottle propers and we sit there Usualy taking turns holding one propping the other never walk away the baby propped Usualy eats nicer and for one baby that eats fast and we want her to burp we give her 3 ounces burp her then add 2 more ounces to her bottle works wonderful the mothers are thrilled and I am the one that had issues propping I really didn’t want to. But crying hungry babies is not fair and 3 babies 8 -11 months they can hold their own bottle in bouncer

I didn't read the replies.
I am a babysitter. I on occasion will prop bottles, but really try not to.
I will generally sit the babies on boppy pillows in front of me and give them bottles by hand.
If I have to prop (bec more than 2 babies need to be fed at a time), then I will still set the baby in front of me and watch them while they have the bottle.
If you prop bottles there needs to be constant supervision.

This is untrue. I have twins,fully formula fed, no help, never propped a bottle. It's possible

Also me hot them a bottle feeding pillow. I put them both in car seats even though that’s also not the best idea..

I always asked that they shouldn't and didn't send to a babysitter who couldn't commit. If they did against my will, I don't know and bH nothing happened. I asked the babysitter to call me from work and I would come feed my crying baby if they were busy with another child and couldn't wait. (I always used a babysitter within a few blocks of my office and was called on occasion to come feed my baby)
My father is on Hatzola and unfortunately saw too many cases of choking from propped bottles. I grew up with "never prop a bottle" ingrained in me.
