Just got up from Shiva a few days ago.
My father died very unexpectedly, he was young and otherwise ok.
Can someone recommend a therapist who can help me get through this? I can't eat or sleep... (been up for hours just feeling so unsettled and sad)
I have no money so if they take insurance it would be great.

Go to Chemed or LCSC and they'll match you with someone who takes insurance and they think it's a good fit.

Just want to offer hugs. It's very hard to lose a parent. I remember after getting up from Shiva for my mother AH, it seemed so weird that the sun was shining....life was just going on.
There's a forum for losing a parent at any age on this site. It might be helpful to you.

If you don't want a clinic, go on Headway online- they have frum therapists who take insurance.

Tysm! I just checked and it seems like there are a few frum therapists in Lakewood that take my insurance. Will look into this further tomorrow

Oh good! Also, look up Miriam Ribiat on Chevrah Lomdei Mishnah. She has a podcast and other material that might help. And LINKS has material and programming for adults too.
