I recently wrote a true story in an article format that was published in one of the frum magazines. Now the family about whom the story was written has asked me if I would consider writing it in a book.
Due to the nature of magazine articles, the story that was published was missing a lot of the story.
I would be eager to take this on, but I have no experience in publishing a book. Has anyone here done it? How would I go about getting a manuscript published ?

I think you are jumping the gun, first write the manuscript then work on publishing. You can send it out to different publishers for an offer or self-publish

If you’re writing it for a family, like as a memoir, you’re pretty much assured that it’ll end up being published, either in the conventional sense or as a self-published work. I’ve published both types of books so happy to answer any specific questions you may have.
