Can I prepare my potato kugel now and leave it in the foil pan in the fridge raw for a few hours so I can wash my dishes and clean up, yet put my kugel in the oven closer to shabbos so it will be fresher?

No it will turn grey. Rather under bake and continue later

No.
You can freeze the batter raw in an aluminum pan. Then about 2 hours before shabbos, stick into the oven on 500 straight from freezer. Bake for about 2 hours. It will taste almost like fresh.

We don’t know where you are and how many hours you are talking about but potatoes do get dark even in a kugel mixture IME

Cover it and bake for 1-2 hours. (Depending on size) Then turn to 120 degrees And leave in the oven till you serve.

Thank you for all these ideas!

The problem is that I need the oven for other things also so I can't leave it on a low temp all day Sad

So I guess I'll bake it soon, take it out for an hour or two while I do the challah and anything else, then put back on low...

If you need oven for low, do kugel first, on high. After an hour of baking, you can cover and lower it and continue baking all day.

Challah can go in on high too. You will get a beautiful crust with less cracks

I assume you mean Centigrade, because Fahrenheit ovens don't go that low. It converts to about 250F.

when you put it back, it can be on regular 350 again. It's delicious after baking for many hours.
