I once sent dd to get takeout with one of those school lunch SNAP cards. She was way overcharged. They charged 50$ for something that should’ve cost 13$. I tried calling for a few days but then gave up.

Isn’t Bingo owned by Osher Ad from Israel? That’s why you’re getting Israeli customer service.

What has ownership to do with customer service?

Even in store the people at the customer service desk aren’t very knowledgeable. I asked them there a certain item is they said it’s out of stock not coming any time soon but as I walked around it was in plain sight plenty on the shelves.

I had this scenario this week.
I wanted a set of serving spoons in silver color (stainless steel) and they only had in gold color. Store staff and even store manager both told me "we don't have right now".
I was in the store for a long time and suddenly saw a nice amount of the item I wanted (somewhat hidden away)
No apology from store staff.

It’s not a big deal to dispute a charge, people do it all the time. It’s often easier than dealing directly with the company (although the company may be fined). If it’s their mistake and they are known to be careless I just go straight to cc company.

I tried eliminating soething in Target, that I self scanned, and even the manager had a hard time.

That’s by self checkout where they lock it, Bingo has a self scanner where you can add and subtract super easily.

I called American Expres last night when I noticed it. They said disputes can take up to 90 days. Going to the store is the quick route. SUpposedly I should see a credit within 2-3 days. Charges you see as pending right away. Credits take that long to show up on my account. But its better than waiting 90 days.

It has a lot to do with, because they hire and train based on their values, and if the owner doesn’t value good customer service, they won’t reprimand or fire a worker that messes up with a customer. I work in a big Supermarket customer service, I know the business.

What are you talking about? Each store has its own management and customer service. I’ve called there and gotten employees who pick up. And they’re American.

If you mean Bingo in BP, I called last night. I listened to a recording over and over and then after the wait, I got disconnected.

I emailed and I got this response:

Thanks for reaching out to Bingo Wholesale, Please note this email is not monitored on a daily basis.
If this is a urgent matter see 1 of our customer service rep in any location.

Thanks
Have a wonderful day!

No kidding, that’s an example of bad customer service

I hate the scanner system because I find it another thing to remember to do in a big sensory environment like a supermarket. But my husband loves it, and so do most people I know.

I love it, but I am constantly losing my scanner! I put it down to put something in my cart or in a bag, and then I forget that I put it down….

My mother once got charged around $500 for carrots. She didn't realize because it was part of a huge Pesach order. Don't remember what made her look at the receipt but bH she did.

I had the exact opposite once!
I made my shopping order online like I normally do and paid for it. next day the order arrives with like 500 carrots - except this was not a pesach order! Instantly checked the reciept and what I had ordered. I got what I had ordered and had paid for it but mistake made was I ordered in 20 bags of carrots instead of 20 carrots!
Moral of the story - always check the order before you pay - both instore and online!

Bingo usually has the self checkout option so you’re the one scanning.

But I wish I’d be able to see totals before I get to the register.

I also once had a very high bill and didn’t realize till I got home. I was charged for a case of avocados instead of just 1. It was 80 something dollars vs like 2. But I was able to reach the store and they refunded me.

I just had a crazy story. It was only a dollar but still. I was just finishing my shopping when the store announced that their internet was down and therefore they couldn’t take cc, only check or cash. People were leaving full shopping carts bec they couldn’t pay. I didn’t have patience to come back so I pulled out my checkbook, even though I really prefer not to use checks if possible. When they deposited the check- they must have typed a dollar more and the bank accepted it and took out more from my account, even though the check said a dif amount. I waited a week or so to see if the bank would realize and they didn’t. So I went to customer service, who tried to tell me that maybe there was a service fee. There’s no service fee on a check 😳. They finally gave me a credit on my account but so weird

I’ve had checks go through as the wrong amount a few times. Call the bank and they pull up the images and adjust it. (I once found months later a $100 check I deposited went through as $10! They fixed)

According to the manager of BP Bingo, most of the people who realize they overpaid, are those who did self checkout and scanned things more than once.
