Play stories/music but they have to be quiet? Or at least stay in their respective beds?

They need their own space. Why do they share a bed? I don’t think it’s fair to expect so much of them in the same bed.

I definitely think they should be in separate beds. Maybe even bunk beds since 6yr old is big enough for that. Otherwise you can offer them other things to do quietly like reading books in bed or playing with dolls.

I feel you. Ds3 is so hyper by bedtime but dd5 doesn't deserve the consequences because of his behavior (for example to turn off the stories, me to leave...).
It feels impossible.
And unfortunately ds is still not sleeping... I'm going crazy. He just has so much energy.
(I'm sorry I hijacked your thread. Just needed to get that out)

I’ve put my kids to sleep in separate rooms before and transferred one once they were asleep.
Like I would let my 4 year old fall asleep in my bed and would carry her back to the room she shared with my 2 year old once she was asleep.
