I applaud your intentions, but I'm not sure you're going about them in the right way. Your question is very broad, for one thing,, and excellent memories are personal and individual. Maybe Sarah's memories are of swimming, sailing and skiing--but your DC is unathletic hates sand and salt and is terrified of deep water. Maybe Alise's memories are of going with a friend to the library and taking out 30 books each to read as they sat side by side on the floor, but your child is in perpetual motion, dreams of being a dancer, and would be happy not reading at all unless it's
dance instructions. And Shana fondly recalls her dad the chazzan singing her to sleep but neither you nor your dh can sing a note.
Don't try to give your kids other people's childhoods. Give them their own.
Besides, "special" memories don't necessarily look special from the outside. They can be something like sitting at the kitchen table doing arithmetic homework to the clatter and clink of dishes and pots and pans while mom prepares supper, or a certain serving dish --ir may even be old and chipped--that happens to capture the child's imagination. Or a towel or blanket in a color the kid turns out to like.
Just give your DC a normal childhood and the memories will take care of themselves.

Still, this is a very interesting question, and I would like to hear people's answers.
Tbh I just started thinking about it and I'm tearing up.
Most of my most "special" memories are ordinary things - Playing with my older siblings, my mother making a certain food for me. I guess it's just times I felt loved. BH

My parents used to take us out individually (either my mother or father with one of us).
I do that with my kids sometimes and it means the world to them, they talk about it forever.

They say your kids don't need vacations but my happiest memories are absolutely my vacations. I'm from England so we would go on holiday to Europe like Italy or France. Spending hours swimming or on the beach.
