I suppose I’m asking if the classes are Halacha or hashkafa based, or both. If there is open discussion of problems women have within the charedi sector. What is chumra? What is minhag?

Hi I went to shearim recently. It is definitely a cheredi school. Not all of the teachers are cheredi so the classes that aren't specially halacha are a mix, but all are right wing shtark. They teach halacha how cheredi in Israel hold. They'll say what is chumra or minhag but not what leniencies non cheredim hold by if that makes sense.

What do you mean regarding women's problems? They teach what's relevant for everyone and have a mentorship program set up to guide students at their own pace

They aren’t going to be so casual about women’s problems in charedi sector lol you might get a charedi definite answer and not get into it so much and go back to the curricula or class topic.

The students need to be committed to Shabbos and kashrut, at least within the dorms. There's no age limit, but the majority of the students are in their twenties and early thirties. They have beginner level classes, and more advanced classes, which suit women with more extensive backgrounds.

There are some specific halacha classes, and some machshava type classes. A lot of hashkafa will be woven into the more text based classes.

Problems that women have within the chareidi sector are more likely to be a one on one discussion with a mentor. They don't want to take up extensive class time for things that are only an issue to one person. If it becomes a more widespread issue, they might set up some focused programming.

They actually run an amazing program about abuse and how to identify it as a BT.
