Until what age do mothers call to set up playdates for their kids?

I do it for them until they should be old enough to do it themselves, third grade latest.

Depends on the kid. My 4 year old likes to call herself and she can handle it. I dial and supervise and guide the questions if I need to. The oldest I’ve called for is second grade I think. But I find by first most kids are calling themselves.

Your 4 year old handles the Logistics of a play date?

We discuss it before, and the she calls and says can I speak to ruchi, do you want to come to my house after school tomorrow? Ruchi asks her mother and then comes back with a yes a or no. What’s the big deal?

My 5 year old tells me who she wants a playdate with, but I’m the one who contacts the mom. Part of it is in our neighborhood it’s more common to coordinate by text and she can’t read or write well enough yet

I have the same question!! DD, 7, got a call for a play date, and I was wondering if I news to contact mom to make sure it’s ok…
She was invited for a Sunday and ended up going Monday if that changes anything…

This is all done by WhatsApp or text. My daughter has one friend who calls and asks for her and I think it’s adorable and TBH quite quaint. I was thinking I should have my kids call for themselves too so they can practice phone etiquette but then I figured phone etiquette itself is probably becoming obsolete
