That's what it's for: rest and rejuvenation. Look forward to it's working magic on you. Forget everything else.

I don't wanna see food (except maybe ice cream) ... don't wanna shop ... certainly don't wanna cook ... don't wanna go to shul ... not even sure if I wanna stay in bed ... "I just wanna watch my tv - I don't wanna be like kivi" Music

greenfire,

I'm totally with you. So over-chag'ed after all the cooking in the last 2wks.
On top of that, DH has to speak at a community dinner, no eruv here so
I'll just be on my own with the kids.

I'll raid the freezer. DD doesn't like meat anyway, so I'll just do a simple pot
of veggie soup, meatball (frozen leftover from R-H) for the rest of us, some
salad and that'll be it.

We'll probably open a can of tuna, a tub of hummous, and tuck into cholent
for lunch, finish with fruits, that's it.

You're invited here Greenie. Anytime. With the amount of guest here this week a couple of more wont make a dent.

I never do take out but sometimes I wish there was the option of buying a few bits and pieces.

I just made rice and chicken soup. That's IT. I have 4 leftover drumsticks from chag. Let em eat cake. (Don't have any of that though).

I've also had it.

My mother brought me soup. Freshly made for Hoshanna Raba, then frozen (I don't want soup that has been sitting around). So, we will have a little something different for Shabbat.

HEY that's what I plan on having Yom Shabbos!!
A couple of the kids have a stomach virus so I'm running back and forth w/ flat soda and saltines for them so I can't cook so much this week.

With all the Yom Tov cooking I made sure to have SOME normal traditional Shabbos food in the freezer. I also cooked marinated salmon for second days, so I still have enough for Shabbos; that sits well for at least 2 weeks. The rest is coming out of the freezer and whatever is missing, well, as Chossidmom and Madame Defarge' said, "Let them eat cake!!"
happyone, why all the guests THIS week? Some people extending Yom Tov?

Boy do I empathize with you. I also didn't want to do a THING. All I could think about was sitting on the computer and going on IMAMOTHER and chilling out. LOL

Didn't do that of course. I can't wait for Shabbos..........

DH is away, but DS's have guests & they'll probably drag more people home. That's OK, I froze 2 complete cooked chickens, a massive deli roll, fish, soup, kugels, & cake. I ran out of challah so I have another batch rising, & I'm making lokshen. That's it.

My cleaner didn't show Exploding anger , my back hurts, the house is a wreck, & all these bochurim are still puffing.

Green, how fast can I come to you for your pickle?? Pinktichel...stop being a gourmet cook for yenem! Open a can of tuna, your DH will be very happy Wink
