For those who have bought or sold instagowns, how did the sale process look? I posted a dress for sale and I've had 1 or 2 people ask about sending someone to pick it up and bringing it to them to try on. Their people live less an hour drive from me. Is this standard? Do I ask for a deposit? What if they wear it to their event and then send it back? I hate to be cynical but I feel a little uncomfortable selling this way.

I think the people have to come to you to try it on. They could ruin it, or not return it.

Don’t let them take it home without payment.
I’ve had a dress stolen from me this way because it never dawned on naive me that a frum looking woman would steal.

I really hear this! I felt yucky write my original post because how can I accuse my Jewish sisters of having anything but good intentions? Reality though is that we do have to be cautious.

I’ve sold a few gowns there. The people have always come to my house to try it. No way the gown leaves my house without payment.
