Does anyone know someone who was accepted and is going? Trying to decide where daughter should accept for next year. Is it yeshivish? Out of town? Academic?

My daughter is going.
Is Yeshivish. From out-of-town
She's not academic.

I don't wanna be identified on this website- but a smaller out-of-town city with just one frum high-school in it
My daughter is also like that. She enjoys learning very much. She even listens to shuirim in her free time at home. She just doesn't like heavy textual type of learning that they do in school.

Thanks so much. Sounds like it’ll be a good fit.

I have two nieces (on different sides of family) who went to Rinas. Both are pretty yeshivish. Smart but not super academic.

I don’t know who is there now. Last year was a small group of students, very out of town, not academic, think opposite of Lakewood or Flatbush culture. Yeshivish or Chassidish or heimish homes, most girls wear nightgowns, and are not academic. If she is sweet and kind, a good kid, out of town, not into fashion or not aware of fashion pressures, even if does not do well academically in classes, they will welcome her. Middos are more important than grades. BTW School’s location is incredible - just minutes to Geula/Meah Shearim. The location was my favorite part. Be mindful that things can be complicated for some students in this seminary.

This describes half of Lakewood. What exactly is the opposite of Lakewood here? Do you know anything about actual Lakewood and how people live or just base it on posts on here? Most of Lakewood proper is really simple down to earth, not aware of fashion, really great middos…

It is hard to share private or vulnerable experiences on a public forum and be put down by others for them. And- it is also important to speak up to protect others. I am trying to find that balance here. I know first-hand because I was there 2022-2023. I have friends who went 2020-2021, 2022-2023 and 2023-2024. I saw first hand in my year what was going on. I heard directly from girls who went other years that had similar experiences. The same theme of experiences were shared by enough students across years both off this platform and within this platform. Read the threads and you will see other voices besides my own sharing concerns. That is called a red flag. As parents, it is important to be aware of red flags and not to ignore them or say they are not true because many students had a good time. There are enough posters on this forum identifying red flags. My only purpose in writing this is to state that parents should be cautious and be careful - as you should anytime you send your child abroad for a year. Consult your Daas Torah with concerns about emotional abuse before sending here. Not all Daas Torah would say to send here. You can also consult with respected Rav and posek of Har Nof Rabbi O. who is close with HaRav Ezriel Uhrbach about this seminary. He used to teach here and tried to advocate for the students. In previous posts, the head of this website wrote that Rabbi O does not want his names spelled out here so I changed it to Rabbi O to respect his privacy. That being said, if you want to find him, call Rav Ezriel Uhrbach and ask him if the posek of Har Nof Rabbi O is a legitimate Talmud Chachom whose opinions can be relied upon and for contact information. Surely you will then get what you need and if you hold of Hagaon Harav Ezriel Uhrbach (son of Rav Shlomo Zalman Ubrbach) to vouch for Rabbi O then surely one must take into consideration the opinions of this Rav who is a well respected Daas Torah.
Consult your Daas Torah.
With regards to your daughter, that is wonderful that she loves it. I am genuinely so happy for you that your daughters are loving it. That is a bracha to thank Hashem for. May she continue to have the most beautiful successful year.

From what I understand, the only girls who don’t have a good year are the ones where the hashkafos are different. Maybe hashkafa is the wrong word…but the school has rules and the rules might be too rigid for some girls. From what I hear it’s more yeshivish than other seminaries. This year there are girls from all over, not just USA. Other countries also.
And in all fairness, you heard things and you still went. I know that administrators went to Rinas and talked to them. If there were red flags then no girls would have gone. I hear that you want to look out and protect people but most schools look into seminaries very carefully and don’t allow girls to even apply to a seminary if there is even a potential issue.
