best perfume to buy? not a major perfume wearer but I want something nice to have to apply a little here and there

What do you mean by "the best perfume to buy?"
Scent is a very personal preference. Some stranger on the internet can't tell you what smells you should like. Go to a department store or drugstore and try some out (not too many at a time). Leave it on for a while before evaluating, since the scent may change over the course of the day.
