Bought a donut maker this year.
Like a waffle maker but with shapes for donuts.
Anyone have a good recipe? Can I use any donut recipe? or is it supposed to be liquidy like waffle batter?

I did not enjoy these donuts and neither did the kids...
I too would like a better donut recipe.

I've uses a cupcake batter and frozen pancake batter. The pancake batter made a flatter donut but the the kids liked it and I poured it straight from the bottle, no cleanup involved. The cupcake batter made prettier donuts that can be iced and decorated.

Lol. My kids had no issue with it. My mother's students (big kids) liked them too.

Between carpool has a recipe
Personally I don't find that any donuts from the donut maker come out great...it's more the whole activity of decorating them that is fun and exciting

None. The donut maker doesn't make donuts. It's a waffle machine with a different shape.

I use the recipe from between carpools. It isn't a donut flavor-it's more like a pancake or waffle. But I love making them as they're easy to do and the kids love decorating them. We usually do it after candlelighting where I make a batch of them and we have icing or chocolate, along with different toppings.
If you want a homemade fried donut flavor there's no way out without actually frying donuts.

I tried a waffle batter in our mini donut maker last week, and they really didn't come out great, like they didn't bake enough no matter how long I left them in, and they didn't rise and get fluffy.

Last year I did a Duncan Hines cake mix in the donut maker, then we decorated it. Was so simple, and kids enjoyed them
