Besides for how much we appreciate him teaching our son, I can’t think of what to write. Please help a clueless first time mom 🙏

In addition to a generous thank you, write about any positive changes you’ve noticed in your son.

Unless your son is a challenging student that's all you need. My son is so I would add more. End of with "a freilichin chanuka" maybe? Honestly it's just a lovely gesture.

Some ideas:
- (Ds) Always comes home with a smile on his face and is so excited to tell us all about his day
- Your dedication to the students is evident. The hours and hours it takes to prepare do not go unnoticed.
- tell over any little anecdote that your child shared from school that he was excited about
- (I have done this in the past) ask ds what he loves about his Rebbe, and write that in the card (or something along these lines, ie his favorite things to learn in Rebbes class, etc)

Sure!
Also, what grade is your son in? If he's sharing parsha stories at the shabbos table, mention how nicely he gives it over. If he's telling over what he learned in Chumash, tell the Rebbe how much nachas you're getting watching your son grow into a Ben Torah under his care.

I had my son write the card instead . You can imagine what it looks like . But I prompted him to write something he loves , something he likes , and happy chanuka . and it’s adorable.

If there's a particular incentive program he enjoys, say so.
If he appreciates the rebbi's sense of humor, say so.
If the rebbi went above and beyond in a specific way for your child, say so.
If your son is getting better scores, more into his learning this year than usual, say so.
Etc.
Be specific, not generic.
