Does anyone know someone who renders coffee machines - to make them made by a Jew so that tevila is not required?

I know there is someone in lakewood who does this but specifically he does Keurig's.

My husband has a Mr. Coffee and he said if I could find out about this, (and make the arrangements) that would be my chanuka present to him.

He's not comfortable with the option of selling to a non Jew.

If it's someone anywhere in the USA, I would try to find a ride for the Mr. Coffee to get to the person and back.

(btw, I had no idea about this, and then one day I was reading the Kichels and it was on an ad in a bulletin board in the comic and I showed it to my husband as a joke and he told me it's a real thing and that's what he wants).

It's very cool that this concept exists.

Can you speak to the person the Keurig machines? Can you ask him if you would consider doing Mr coffee?

Thank you.
I suppose I could, but I don’t know him directly. Our handyman told us about him and checked with him and he said he only Keurigs.

Thanks so much!

Hopefully someone will know….

I told my cleaning lady that since I cant make it kosher I'm giving it to her for a gift but it's staying in my house. She has been working with jewish people for over 20 years so she understood it. (As per my LOR)

My dh is an electrician (in Israel). According to him, if the item was even temporarily unusable in a way that an ordinary person can't fix, and a Jewish craftsman fixed it and made it usable, it is as if it was made by the Jew and doesn't need tevilah.
In practical terms, he cuts off the electric cable and plug and replaces them with a new one. I don't know if all rabbanim hold by this method. Some do.

Edited to add a word of caution: it might void the warranty the item has, if that's relevant.

My rav said they if the item has a computer chip that will be damaged by the tevilah you don’t have to toivel the part containing the chip.
Other electronics we toivel but not the keurig

It means the item is rendered unusable and then fixed by a Jewish craftsman.

An item that is not usable without direct Jewish craftsmanship does not need the mikvah.

Monsey based, but my husband does this for people, all types of machines. He’s done slush and cotton candy machines as well.

He needs to see if first to tell you if he’d do it. And it definitely voids the warranty.

Call any appliance repair guy and ask them.
