Having our first bar mitzvah this spring .
Really nervous as I want to try to plan it out now so I don’t get overwhelmed too close to the time . My husbands not a planner type and so he will pay someone to do it all few weeks before . We had a simcha last year and ended up paying way too much on all the little things we needed ( could have done it myself for sooo much cheaper and better and don’t want to go that route again)
Just need some ideas ( and help plz!! )
What to wear to a bar mitzvah - any color ok? Long/short ?
Is it too early to shop now ? Winter stuff still out and then I feel like once spring stuff comes out its full price .
Need something for shabbos kiddush and morning of bar mitzvah tefillin wrapping small breakfast - will have photographer so want to lol put together .
What’s bout dressing my younger kids .
Anyone have ideas of a favor thing to give out ?
I prefer to give out something ppl can keep the box /container in as oozed to cardboard or plastic box that gets thrown out after - I think more practical than wasting money in garbage .
I’m open to ideas .

You r stressing me out 🙈😜
Making bar mitzvah in the spring as well.
Totally haven’t thought about it yet, other than booking the shul for Shabbos and doing leining lessons.
Didn’t even finalize on a day yet 🙈
We have 2 days penciled in.
That being said, in terms of clothing for Shabbos etc, it’s definitely too early.
Combine regular spring shopping with bar mitzvah shopping.
For the evening event, if you are doing super elegant, and going for a gown look, you can start looking for everyone now. Any color works, even in the winter. I’ll probably start thinking about clothing about a month b4 if I know myself.
If you are going for more elegant that Shabbos, but not gown, wait for the spring line to come out Purim time.

Sorry, can't really help you with fashion advice but I would rethink this. Personally, I don't appreciate collecting random, non disposable containers that end up taking up too much space in my cabinets until I get rid of them anyway. I would go with something disposable but environmentally friendly.
